Dr. Edwin T. Johnson completed the BA Degree in Speech Communication at Morgan State University in 1992. He went on to Towson State University and earned his first MA Degree in Mass Communications in 1996. He then returned to Morgan and earned his second MA Degree in African American Studies, and the PhD in History in 2003 and 2009 respectively.
Dr. Johnson has spent his professional career at Morgan in a myriad of capacities. He has been a faculty member, the Director of Admissions, an Academic Advisor, and the Interim Assistant Dean in the College of Liberal Arts. He is currently the Senior Coordinator for Student Disability Support Services.
Dr. Johnson’s research interest is the systematic disenfranchisement of African American males in urban environments. He is on the faculty of the University of Maryland University College where he teaches History. This year Dr. Johnson was appointed by Gov. Larry Hogan to the MD Commission on African American History and Culture.
